Global First Nations Carbon Summit Returns for Second Year
Regina, Saskatchewan – Carbon RX Inc. (“Carbon RX”) is pleased to announce the return of the Global First Nations Carbon Summit. The Summit will take place October 3, 2023, on Treaty 6 Territory at the Dakota Dunes Resort.
This influential event serves as a platform for First Nations voices, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovative solutions around carbon management. Building upon the success of the 2022 Summit, this event aims to further elevate the importance of indigenous perspectives in tackling global climate issues and advancing First Nations environment sovereignty.
Attendees are expected to come from across Canada, representing diverse sectors such as agriculture, forestry, and energy. Chiefs, Councillors, Economic Development officers, Government, academia, and technology players are among some of the key attendees anticipated to join.
Topics of the Summit will include:
- An Introduction to Carbon: A comprehensive learning experience, covering everything from Carbon 101 to the intricacies of the carbon markets.
- How to Reduce and Capture Carbon: Leveraging modern technology to reduce and capture carbon emissions.
- Leveraging Carbon as a Financial Instrument: A breakdown of how carbon can be used to enhance and drive economic activity in First Nations communities.
“Everyone is talking carbon, but there is no place to go if you are new to the subject” says Carbon RX, CEO, Marty Seymour. “The conference is targeted at First Nations leaders who are carbon curious and want practical solutions they can take back to their communities and put into action.”
